The Public’s Radio and Rhode Island PBS have recently merged in a move to build on their commitment to community service and local journalism in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts and we’re hiring! We have an opening for a Newport Bureau Reporter to cover the communities of Aquidneck Island and adjacent regions. The reporter will be based at our regional bureau in Newport and have a particular emphasis on engagement journalism, focused on issues affecting the diverse and often under-reported communities of the region. Director of Human Resources

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the President & CEO and the senior leadership team to help develop and implement a plan to merge two exceptional public media entities. The Director of HR will play a key role in helping to shape an engaged and supportive employee culture and create an innovative and dynamic 21st century public media institution.
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Human Resources leads the Human Resources department and works collaboratively across the organization to plan, direct, and coordinate all human resources initiatives. Working closely with the team, the Director of Human Resources develops and implements HR policies, procedures, and initiatives including talent management, succession planning, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, organizational development, performance, training and development and helps lead the strategy and activities related to establishing and maintaining a healthy
organizational culture to ensure staff receive the guidance and support needed to perform to their potential. See the full description here.

Television Technician

The Television Technician works to support all aspects of studio, field production, and station operations. The Television Technicians bring technical
experience to our Production team including running studio cameras, graphics, lighting,
shading cameras or audio during the recording of Rhode Island PBS studio
programming, as well as editing to provide high-quality production projects. Candidates
with a background in technical operations, lighting, shooting and editing, or equivalent
