Rhode Island is awash in acoustic guitar performances for the weekend of April 6-8. The University of Rhode Island Guitar Festival kicks off its 3rd incarnation on Friday night at the Pump House Music Works in Peace Dale. And the Argentinian guitarist and composer Juan Falu makes an appearance in Providence on Sunday night. Guitarist Adam Levin and mandolinist Jacob Reuven perform, and talk with RIPR’s Chuck Hinman. Also interviewed is Oscar Ballester, who arranged the Juan Falu concert.
The URI Guitar Festival line-up includes performers from around the world, covering classical, jazz, world folk and modern fingerstyle guitar. The festival goes through Sunday night.
Also Sunday night in Providence, in an entirely separate performance, the Argentinian guitarist Juan Falu appears at the ECAS Theater.
