• Polls open at 7 o’clock Tuesday morning for Rhode Island voters in the presidential and local elections. Across the state, polls remain open until 8  p.m.
  • Don’t know where to vote? The secretary of state’s office has a website where you can check. All you need is a home address.
  • If you forgot to register to vote, you can still cast a ballot for president. Contact your local board of canvassers for more information on same-day registration.
  • Remember, this is the first presidential election for Rhode Island’s photo ID law. A variety of IDs can be used, and even if you don’t have one you can still fill out a provisional ballot, to be counted after your identity is verified.
  • Finally, if you feel so inclined, Rhode Island state law does allow selfies of you and your ballot in the voting booth… just don’t take a picture of anybody else’s ballot.
