The ferry from Providence to Newport set sail last Friday, for the first time since 2009.
Along with 100 passengers of all ages, there were two dogs, two bicycles, and two producers from Rhode Island Public Radio. Alex Braunstein and Mitchell Johnson filed this postcard from Narragansett Bay.
Those were the voices of Cranston resident Barbara Burns, Rumford residents Bud Fales and his Pomeranian Cocoa, and Providence resident Perry Gast. They took the very first ferry from Providence to Newport after service was restored last week.
