Do you support trucking tolls for tractor trailers on Rhode Island highways?

As there is no question that the State of Rhode Island needs to generate more income, I am not sure the best way to do so was to initiate truck tolls. This State needs to attract business and help the existing businesses grow. Adding yet another tax to the already burdened business man does not seem like the proper route to go.

Would you support a state-mandated health insurance program?

Health insurance is an essential part of our lives. It is one of those necessities that is not appreciated unless it is needed. If the State were to discuss having a state mandated program I would have to understand all of it before I could take a stance. I would have to know that our citizens are covered for whatever illness or injury they encounter. It would need to be affordable, with an affordable deductible and with a prescription plan that enables a person to not only take the prescribed medication but also to be able to put food on their table.

I am tired of hearing the astronomical dollar amounts people pay for prescriptions. This subject needs much study and debate.

Are you in favor of expanding protections against sexual harassment to include domestic workers (such as nannies) and volunteers (such as interns)?

If given the opportunity, would you codify the right to have an abortion in state law?

Abortion is a subject that I would be asked about when I was campaigning for town council years ago, even though I did not have a say in the matter. I believe that laws for a subject as sensitive and emotional as abortion must be explicit. No person should be allowed to choose an abortion without knowing every medical and religious fact beforehand.

Is the state doing enough to help people who have been left behind by the economy? If not, what additional steps should be taken?

Does primary education need to be improved statewide? If so, how?

Do you support RI’s designation as a sanctuary state? Why or why not?
