Before Bernie Sanders ran for president, few states had seriously considered “single-payer” health care. Today, Rhode Island is one of at least 18 states where bills are pending to create a “single-payer” health system.

Rhode Island Public Radio’s health reporter, Lynn Arditi, talks with news director Elisabeth Harrison about a bill scheduled for a hearing Thursday night in the Rhode Island General Assembly to create a single-payer system for primary care.
